On the soil counter website, you should be able to find all kinds of useful information about the condition of the soil. You can see how this works (or ownership how this used to work) in this century-old video. Anyway. The question is: How useful is the soil counter website and what can you do with it?

The answer: you can do pretty little with it. There is incredibly little data available on the soil counter. On the map below, you can see by everything in light yellow and in dark yellow which areas have no data available from them in the soil counter. That’s a pretty big part of the Netherlands. If you search in such an area (and there’s a good chance of that) the map will show an shading ‘no data available’. If you want more information about soil in your neighborhood, it is much better to look it up he 1 of the 19 environmental services in the Netherlands or if they are not the competent authority (as in Haarlem) at the municipality itself.
