Sander at VK Makelaars recently helped me through the process of purchasing a house in Haarlem. After six months and many viewings, we found the perfect place. If prior to that moment Sander had been great, from the bidding moment onwards he was absolutely fantastic. I cannot recommend him enough – extremely professional, knowledgeable, supportive, honest and resourceful. He has the best local knowledge and network, which is essential if you want to find the right property in the Netherlands. Sander was extremely helpful in the search. He showed me places in Haarlem and when I later decided to look in Amsterdam he still accompanied me to the viewings.
He is also very patient and goes over the details of contracts etc very carefully.

We worked with Gisele Nader and Floris van Kuijeren. The experience was fantastic, from our first meeting in their office to learn what we were looking for, to arranging viewings (during the pandemic) to the eventual offer and negotiation. Their communication was nearly instant, information was spot on, Floris even made us an English language video explaining the sales contract in great detail.
Gisele is fluent in Portuguese, English and Dutch and Floris in Dutch and English. They are a great team for an expat to work with!

We had Gisele Nader as a recommendation from a friend who had found and purchased a house within two months. After trying by ourselves and through another broker it became apparent that we’d be better off working with Gisele Nader from VK Makelaars just like our friend did.
Within the first call Gisele earned our trust in sharing her latest experience on dealing with the scarcity of properties, latest bidding, and took notes of our preferences, took into account cultural differeces, and more. In the same week, Gisele Nader already had gone ahead and scheduled two viewings for us, and in the third it was the house we ended up buying – all within the course of weeks.
Gisele Nader helped us navigate the paperwork required, understand all parties involved, and stuck with us every step of the way – I cannot recommend her enough moving forward.

We joke that we were likely his quickest clients ever (he negotiated the deal we found within 4 calendar days), but that didn’t stop him from working his hardest on our behalf. He got us a great deal on a house, helped us with all of the details, and was very easy to get in contact with. He reminded us of all important details, connected us with a mortgage advisor and a notary and made everything happen smoothly and on time.
One other thing to know about Floris is that he helps you out with his large network of other service providers. Floris has helped us find a chimney sweep for our new place by asking around! This, to me, shows his upmost commitment to helping your family get perfectly settled in your new place while removing a lot of the barriers to doing that.

“Purchased a house within a week. After quick action from our realtor Floris, we had 2 viewings within a week. For us the second house was prefect. After good and fast consultation the house was bought below the asking price. Switching between us, the broker and the selling party was very easy. Our broker had short lines of communication with other brokers and professionals, such as our mortgage advisor, the appraiser and the structural inspector. Quickly arranged and therefore able to purchase quickly.”
